Inside Regional Arts Australia

Regional Arts Australia is the key national body representing the broad and complex interests and concerns of those working with and for the arts in regional, rural and remote Australia.

As an advocate, Regional Arts Australia has achieved significant results over the last three years in winning better recognition and support for the enormous contribution that regional arts make to the cultural, economic and social wellbeing of the nation.

As a project initiator and manager, Regional Arts Australia has become an important partner in equipping regional artists, artsworkers and communities to meet the special needs and challenges that accompany arts practice, arts promotion and audience development in the regional and rural sectors.

Regional Arts Australia employs an Executive Director and Project Officer and engages consultants as needed. Regional Arts Australia funds its administrative activities through income received from membership fees and the leasing out of a Canberra property (Arts House) in which it has an interest. This independent income allows the organisation to maximise the effective application of project funds that it administers. The organisation receives no public funding for its administration.
