RAA - Developing Regional Arts Regional Arts Australia has developed a number of significant projects aimed at increasing the profile and capacity of the regional arts sector. Management of these projects is for the benefit of all Australians working in or enjoying the arts in regional, rural and remote areas.
In recognition of the needs of one of regional Australia’s greatest assets - the commitment of its people - Regional Arts Australia has developed a much-needed national skills development and training program, Smart in Business - course in business skills for creative people, for the many thousands of individuals who work in an unpaid capacity to manage community-based cultural programs and activities within their communities. The course was reaccredited for five years in May 2008, and replaces the course known as "Creative Volunteering: No Limits". Regional artists and organisations can lodged and promote information about their events and activities in the RAA national regional arts events calendar.
The 2010 Conference will take place in Launceston in August 2010.
The Regional Arts Australia Volunteer Awards recognise, reward and encourage regionally-based arts and cultural volunteers who have made a substantial contribution to the arts in regional communities in Australia.
