Important Information

art at the heart is a smoke-free event. 

Weather

art at the heart is an indoor/outdoor experience. We recommend that you bring sun block, a hat, wear comfortable clothing, sensible shoes and bring hot and cold weather clothing options for day and night activities. During September and October temperatures in Alice Springs can vary.

Alice Springs water is safe to drink. We recommend that you carry drinking water with you at all times.


 

Information Hub

 

There will be a community table in the registration area to show what is happening in regional arts across Australia. Delegates and presenters can leave their own flyers, cards etc at the community table for exchange.

 


Transport

 

A free bus service will be available for:

  • transport to venues other than the Convention Centre or the Crowne Plaza (both on Barrett Drive)
  • pick-up and return to accommodation points

The name tag you receive at check in will be needed for entry onto the buses.

 

 

Important information for participants in the Apmeraltye Ingkerreke sessions

  • Presenters have asked that photographs not be taken during these conference sessions.
  • Mobile phones are to be turned off. 
  • These sessions include outdoor experiences. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, hats and sensible shoes. Seating will be available, but participants should be prepared to sit on the ground for some activities.   
  • Photographs and Aboriginal artworks will be available on site for purchase. 
  • For Apmeraltye Ingkerreke # 3 Dance site (6.30pm – 9.30pm Friday 3 October) food will be available onsite for purchase.

Important dates for your diary: Regional Arts Australia's seventh national biennial conference - .... a cool change is coming- will be held in Launceston,Tasmania, from 27-29 August 2010.
