There are less than two weeks for artists and those working in the arts, including volunteers, to submit ideas for presentations, exhibitions, displays or performances for the 6th Regional Arts Australia conference to be held from 3 to 5 October in Alice Springs.

art at the heart conference coordinator Kieren Sanderson says they have received applications from artists across Australia as well as from the United States and India.

“We are particularly keen on receiving innovative proposals that display new ways of sharing ideas and information and involve audience participation,” Ms Sanderson says.

“Storytelling and intercultural collaborations have proven to be popular themes in the applications received.

“For many artists and arts workers this biennial conference is a rare chance to meet people from different environments, cultures and work practices, so we are particularly keen that the program allows for networking opportunities.”

Submissions close 31 January 2008 and details of the conference program will be announced in April.
